I’ve been sneaking around after hours

What a brilliant end to the day. Odile invited Becky and I to meet her after-hours at her place of work: Kew Gardens. With the sun going down we sat eating strawberries discussing and getting excited about the camp that we are all helping to lead this summer. Bliss.

Philippians 3: 12-16

June 29, 2009 at 9:45 am (Uncategorized)

I couldn’t think of anything to write on Sunday, then I thought – why not put something someone else wrote…. So, in Philippians Chapter 3 Paul writes:

12Not that I have already obtained this or am already perfect, but I press on to make it my own, because Christ Jesus has made me his own. 13Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, 14I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus. 15Let those of us who are mature think this way, and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal that also to you. 16Only let us hold true to what we have attained.

It’s Wimbledon time at the BBC. I’m covering all the channel’s lunch breaks today. I’m scared.

Do more?

June 25, 2009 at 10:48 pm (Uncategorized)

Having spent an evening discussing how to apply what I have been learning more of this year in our Bible overview studies:  “God’s plan is to show how good He is as He makes a way to save an undeserving people from judgement, into an eternal relationship with him in a perfect new creation”

I walked past the advert below. It reminded me yet again that with eternity to enjoy a new and perfect earth, there’s no need to try and cram all those experiences in. It’s easier said that done and of course there’s nothing wrong with enjoying the earth that we do have…. but if this is the imperfect version then how awesome (literally) is the New Creation* going to be!

* I use the term “New Creation” because “Heaven” has a rather airy-fairy conotation and what the Bible talks about is a very real physical thing.

Trying to cram everything in?
