Let me tell you a story. Are you sitting comfortably? Then I’ll begin.

Last night (Wednesday) I went to our mid-week bible study at church. It was a challenging passage, as usual, but a good study.

I had driven to church so that I could drive straight to Reading afterwards, picking up my sister from a work “do” near Paddington on the way. On returning to my car I was met by two policemen in yellow coats waving franticly at me not to come any nearer. It turns out that the building in front of the church which is being taken apart, was actually coming apart much quicker than planned! Apparently, the scaffolding and inside of it was falling inwards and some was in danger of falling outwards onto any person or car who happened to be near enough. Nice.
I didn’t see it but they said that that there was debris in the street outside and that they were using chains to hold bits in place while the building was made safe.

So, I made a coffee last several hours in Wetherspoons and then sat with 3 kind St Helen’s guys in the kitchen at church until 1am when the policeman (whose unfortunate job it was to stand in the cold and watch what was going on) came to tell me that if I was quick, I could get my car out!

Despite the fact that I am now shattered, it was actually quite fun. Sitting in St Helen’s late at night drinking tea and talking rubbish felt a little bit like staying in school after hours for a special project or something!

Anyway. London City is officially falling down. No one was hurt as far as I know, which is pretty luckl considering some people had been parked under the building earlier that evening!

I’m a sucker for beatboxing at the best of times, but this beat-box recipe is a particularly ingenious use.
