Windy Cycling
I cycled out to the UEA. It was windy. Cycling in the wind is difficult.
Hmm.
UEA are stingy, they gave me a refund for my plan B ticket but NOT THE FLIPPIN BOOKING FEE.
Grr
Empress Orchid
It has taken me ages to get into this book, but it is gradually growing on me. Apparently it’s based on historical fact, but I don’t know much about the Forbidden City in China or indeed the Last Empress who is the subject of the book, so I couldn’t tell you how accurate it is.
From that perspective I think it’s probably a good book for me to read as hopefully I’ll learn something too. I keep nearly giving in and going to the library to get another Maeve Bincybook though!
I’m a hobo
On Thurday 12th October I stopped working at Pulse. I’m still doing the shows (A List and Oxjam) untill they find a replacement or finish, but I’m not in work every day. Now in theory this means that I have loads of spare time, especially as I don’t start my new job-in-which-you-must-wear-thick-rimmed-glasses at Red Bee Media untill the beginning of December. I wasn’t intending it to work out like that but it’s quite nice!
So far I have been to Teddington(Pretty and posh) to see Tearfund, York (lovely as always and still has a special place) to see BBC Radio York and their CSV desk and London (Smoggy but exciting) to see Virgin Radio.
Today though, I went Chestnut picking in Lion Wood. This was inspired by the fact that I am too stingy to pay £1.50 for them in town and also by Kathy who went with her Dad earlier in the week. I may have eaten them all already. Hmm.
After chestnut picking I walked to the Roman Catholic cathedral, which is suprisingly simple and actually really peaceful inside. The ironwork on the doors is amazing too. Since I was over that way it seemed only fair to go to one of my new favourite shops in Norwich – The Green Grocers and bought some of Clive’s pies, as recommended by Mary. I also got to try the new Toffee apple truffl by yummy local chocolate makers, Booja Booja.
So now, having scoffed all those chestnuts and spoken to my Ma’n'Pa, I’m going to sit myself down in front of Robin Hood (still not convinced) and either Stuck on You or Welcome to Colinwood.
Right Then
I’ve been rubish at keeping this up to date. I’m not sure why, certianly not because things weren’t interesting. Probably more because things were too interesting to talk about on a Blog.
Anyway, thanks to being consistently entertained by the Blog of a friend of Simon (www.judeadam.com) I decided that it was time I get off, or rather on, my arse and write again.
So maybe this will get updated a bit more frequently from now on.
